Tracking Achievements

Achievements unlock passively — you don't need to check in on them regularly. But understanding how they're organised and what drives progress helps you get the most from the system.

The achievement catalogue

The Achievements page lists every available achievement grouped by category. Each entry shows:

  • Icon and title — what the achievement is for
  • Description — the specific milestone required
  • Points value — how many Curator Points it's worth
  • Progress bar — how far along you are toward unlocking it
  • Locked / Unlocked status — unlocked achievements display with full color; locked ones are muted

Use the category quick-links at the top of the page to jump to a specific section rather than scrolling through the full list.

How unlocking works

Achievements are triggered by activity in their respective sections:

  • Logging moods consistently → unlocks Mood achievements
  • Completing habit streaks → unlocks Habits achievements
  • Visiting parks → unlocks Parks achievements
  • Finishing books, films, or games → unlocks Media achievements
  • And so on across all 17 categories

Most achievements have numeric targets (e.g., "Log mood 30 times," "Complete 50 workouts"). Progress counts up automatically as you log data. When you hit the target, the achievement unlocks immediately and you get a notification.

Just Unlocked section

When you visit the Achievements page after earning a new badge, a Just Unlocked section appears at the top highlighting the new achievement. This makes it easy to see what you've earned without hunting through the full catalogue.

Refreshing achievements

If you've been active in other sections and expect an achievement to have unlocked but don't see it reflected, use the Refresh button on the Achievements page. This re-syncs with the backend to check all your current milestones.

Category completion

When every achievement in a category is unlocked, a special banner displays for that category. There's no practical reward beyond the recognition — it's a signal that you've engaged deeply with that part of Terra.

Curator Points total

Your total Curator Points appear as a headline stat at the top of the Achievements page alongside your unlocked count and overall percentage. There's no leaderboard or comparison with others — your points are a personal reflection of your archive depth.

Tips

  • Don't chase achievements directly. The milestones are designed around natural usage patterns. Use Terra consistently and they accumulate on their own.
  • Check the progress bars on locked achievements to see which ones are closest to unlocking — sometimes you're two or three entries away from a badge you didn't know was within reach.
  • The General category contains achievements that span multiple sections, so those often unlock as a byproduct of activity elsewhere.
