Guide (AI Chat)

Guide is Terra's AI assistant — a conversational interface that has full context on your Terra archive and can answer questions, surface patterns, and help you create or update entries across all sections.

How it works

Guide is a chat interface. Type a message and Guide responds. It knows your mood history, habits, workouts, journal entries, media, goals, restaurants, parks, and everything else in your archive — so you can ask questions that cross multiple sections in ways that no individual page can answer.

You can also attach images to your messages for additional context.

What you can ask or do

Questions about your data:

  • "Why was I in such a good mood in March?"
  • "What restaurants have I visited the most this year?"
  • "How many books have I finished since January?"
  • "Which habits have my longest streaks right now?"

Cross-domain questions:

  • "Do my moods tend to be better after I work out?"
  • "What movies did I watch during my last vacation?"
  • "Who was I with at my highest-rated restaurant visits?"

Creating and updating entries:

  • Guide can create events, workouts, tasks, habits, journal entries, and vacations directly from chat
  • Describe what you want and Guide handles the data entry

Models and quotas

Guide supports multiple AI models. A dropdown in the chat header lets you switch between them. Each model has a separate usage quota shown as a progress bar — it turns amber at 75% and red at 90%. If you're running low on one model, switching to another resets your available quota.

Rich cards

When Guide retrieves structured data — a workout, an event, a task, a vacation — it renders it as a formatted card in the conversation rather than just describing it in text. This makes it easy to review what was found or created.

Privacy

Everything you discuss with Guide stays within your personal archive. Conversations are stored in your account and are not used to train models.

Your archive, in conversation.
