Navigating Time
The calendar is most useful when you browse it — not just for today, but across months and years. This page covers how to move through time and what you'll find in the sections below the grid.
Moving between months
Use the left and right arrow buttons beside the month title to step backward or forward one month at a time.
The Today button jumps straight back to the current month from wherever you are.
There's no limit on how far back you can go — if you've been logging since the beginning of your Terra account, every month is browsable.
Coming Up section
Below the calendar grid, the Coming Up section shows what's ahead in the displayed month as a row of hero cards:
- Upcoming events with cover photos
- Birthdays and anniversaries from your People directory
- Vacations starting or active during the month
A fourth card highlights upcoming milestones — goals with milestone target dates in this month.
When you're looking at the current month, Coming Up shows only dates from today onward. When you navigate to a past month, it shows the full month for retrospective browsing.
Tap any card to navigate to the relevant event, person profile, vacation, or goal.
Past Memories section
The Past Memories section shows a grid of journal entries and media (movies, TV, books, games) from the displayed month. Cards use a grayscale image by default that colorizes on hover.
This section is particularly useful when browsing past months — it gives you the cultural and reflective texture of that period alongside the activity data in the grid above.
"View Full Archive" links to the relevant section if you want to see more from that period.
Month Summary
A summary card at the bottom shows aggregated stats for the displayed month — total workouts, habits completed, tasks done, and similar metrics. A quick way to compare months at a glance.
The daily detail page
From any day's panel, the View Full Day button opens a dedicated daily page for that date. This page expands every section with full detail — not just what's shown in the calendar panel, but complete records for each category. Use it when you want a proper recap of a specific day rather than a summary view.
Tips
- Browse past months regularly. The calendar is much more interesting as a historical tool than as a forward planner. Going back six months and clicking through days surfaces patterns and memories that don't appear anywhere else.
- Coming Up is your planning view. At the start of a month, scan Coming Up to see what's scheduled — events, birthdays to acknowledge, vacations to prepare for.
- The day panel is fast once cached. Click through several days in a session and you'll notice the second click on any day is instant.
