Plans & Goals

Beyond logging individual sessions, Terra lets you work toward something. This page covers AI-generated workout plans, workout goals, and personal records — all accessible from the Home and Records tabs.

AI-generated workout plans

Terra can build a personalized 7-day workout plan based on your goals and preferences. To generate one, go to the Home tab and find the plan section.

How it works:

  1. Answer a short questionnaire about your goals, current fitness level, and preferences
  2. Terra generates a structured 7-day plan with a type and intensity for each day, including rest days
  3. Review the plan — each day shows the activity type, difficulty, and a brief description
  4. Tap Add to Upcoming on any day to slot it into your schedule

The plan explains its own balance — why certain days are rest days, how intensity ramps up or tapers — so you understand the reasoning, not just the prescription.

Re-generating a plan: If the generated plan doesn't fit, you can answer the questionnaire again to get a new one.

Workout goals

Workout goals are simple, self-directed targets you set for your movement. Examples:

  • "Run a 5K in under 25 minutes"
  • "Complete 3 strength sessions per week for a month"
  • "Hold a headstand for 30 seconds"

To add a goal: Go to the Home or Records tab and tap Add Goal. Write your goal in plain text.

To mark a goal achieved: Tap the goal to toggle it to met. Goals stay visible in your list after you achieve them so you can see what you've accomplished.

To delete a goal: Use the delete option on any goal entry.

Goals are manual — Terra won't auto-complete them based on your logged workouts. You decide when you've hit the target.

Trophy Room

The Records tab features your Trophy Room — four personal bests pulled automatically from everything you've logged:

  • Longest run — your furthest single run by distance
  • Fastest pace — your best pace per mile across all runs
  • Max weight lifted — your heaviest single lift across all strength sessions
  • Longest swim — your furthest single swimming session

The Trophy Room updates automatically as you log new workouts. You don't configure it or add entries — it reflects the peaks of what you've actually recorded.

Lift Records

In the Stats tab, switch the activity filter to Strength to see Lift Records: your best set for every named exercise you've logged with weight. Each card shows the highest weight achieved, the sets × reps it was hit at, and the date.

Lift Records update automatically after every strength session. If you log a new max on any lift, it appears here without any extra action.

Best Efforts for running

In the Stats tab, switch the activity filter to Run to see Best Efforts: your estimated best pace at standard race distances — 400m, 1 mile, 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon — derived from your actual logged runs.

You don't need to race to have race-equivalent times. If your logged runs contain enough data, Cairnholm estimates your best effort at each distance. These update automatically after every run.

Common questions

Does the AI plan connect to my logged workouts? Once you add plan days to your upcoming schedule, they appear as scheduled workouts. When you complete one, you log the actual activity as normal — the plan and your logs stay linked so you can see what you planned vs. what you did.

Can I have more than one active plan? One plan displays at a time on the Home tab. You can always generate a new one when you're ready for a change.

Do goals auto-reset or expire? No. Goals stay until you delete them or mark them achieved. There's no expiry.
