Daily Check-Ins
The daily check-in is the core action in the Habits section — tap to log a completion, and your streak stays alive. This page covers how it works and how to handle edge cases.
Logging a completion
Your active habits appear on the home dashboard in the Daily Rituals card and on the Habits page. Each habit has a check-off button next to it.
Tap it when you've done the habit. You'll feel a haptic pulse and see a confirmation. That's it — the completion is logged for today.
One completion per habit per day. Tap again to undo a completion if you logged it by mistake.
What happens when you check in
- The completion is saved to your record
- Your streak updates immediately
- The Pulse progress bar fills to reflect today's completion rate
- If you complete all of your active habits for the day, confetti fires
Streaks
A streak is the number of consecutive periods you've completed a habit without missing a gap. What counts as a gap depends on your habit's frequency:
| Frequency | Streak breaks when... |
|---|---|
| Daily | You miss a full day |
| Every Other Day | You go more than 2 days without logging |
| Three Times a Week | You don't log 3 times in a calendar week |
| Once a Week | You go 7+ days without logging |
| Monthly | You go 31+ days without logging |
Your current streak is shown on each habit card as a flame with the day count. Your longest streak ever is visible in the detail panel.
Logging offline
If you don't have an internet connection, completions queue locally and sync automatically when you're back online. You'll see a notification confirming the sync. Your streak holds — the logged date is what matters, not when it synced.
Logging a past completion
If you forgot to check in yesterday, you can still log it. Open the habit's detail panel and use the date selector to log for a specific past date. This keeps your history accurate without inflating today's count.
What shows on the home dashboard
The Daily Rituals card on the home dashboard shows your active habits for today with a completion percentage bar. As you check things off the bar fills. The dashboard is designed for a quick daily scan — tap through your habits, check them off, done.
Completion rate on the Habits page
At the top of the Habits page, the Weekly Velocity percentage shows how many of your possible completions you've logged in the last 7 days. If you have 3 daily habits and completed all of them 5 out of 7 days this week, your velocity is roughly 71%.
Use this as a weekly pulse check — not a grade, just a signal.
