Habits
Habits in Terra are recurring behaviors you want to build into your routine. You define what the habit is, how often you want to do it, and then check it off each time you do. Over time, your completions accumulate into streaks, stats, and a visual history of your consistency.
How it works
Every habit you create appears in your daily view. When you complete it, tap to check it off. That's the core loop — define, do, log. The rest (streaks, charts, insights) builds from that.
Each habit has:
- Title — what the habit is
- Description — the intention behind it (optional but useful)
- Frequency — how often you're committing to do it
- Target — a completion count goal, or infinite for open-ended habits
- Active / Archived — whether it shows in your daily view
Frequency options
| Frequency | What it means |
|---|---|
| Daily | Log it every day to maintain a streak |
| Every Other Day | One missed day between completions is allowed |
| Three Times a Week | 3 completions per week |
| Once a Week | 1 completion per week |
| Monthly | 1 completion per month |
Frequency affects how your streak is calculated — a weekly habit won't break your streak just because you missed Tuesday.
What you can do
- Create a habit from the + button on the Habits page or home dashboard
- Log a completion with a single tap from the home dashboard or Habits page
- View your streak and stats by opening any habit's detail panel
- See your consistency history as a 4-month heatmap
- Archive a habit when you want to pause it without deleting your history
- Mark a habit complete when you've reached your target (or when an infinite habit has run its course)
- Unlock an AI consistency analysis after 100 total completions
Where habits appear
- Home dashboard — your active habits for today, with a quick check-off button and a completion progress bar
- Habits page — all your active habits with full stats and detail panels
- The Pulse — your habit completion fills the daily progress ring
Connecting to the rest of Terra
Habits can be linked to goals — connecting the daily behavior to the larger intention it supports. Completed habits also contribute to achievement badges. At 100 total completions across all habits, you unlock a personal consistency analysis from the AI.
