Tracking Consistency

Beyond the daily check-in, Terra gives you several ways to see how your habits are actually holding up over time — a heatmap, a trend chart, and an AI analysis once you've built up enough history.

Habit detail panel

Open any habit from the Habits page to see its full stats and history.

Stats

  • Current streak — consecutive periods without a missed gap
  • Best streak — your longest run ever for this habit
  • Total completions — all-time count
  • Completion rate — percentage of possible completion days where you actually logged

Activity heatmap

A 4-month GitHub-style grid showing every day. Colored cells are days you logged a completion; gray cells are days you didn't. This gives you an immediate visual read on your pattern — are your gaps clustered on weekends? Do you fade after a few strong weeks?

Completion rate chart

A 12-week bar chart showing your weekly completion percentage. Bar colors indicate how you're doing relative to your target:

  • Green — 100% of target completions logged
  • Blue — 70–99%
  • Yellow — 50–69%
  • Red — below 50%

Below the chart you'll see a trend indicator (improving or declining) and your average rate for the period. Use the dropdown to switch between habits.

Weekly Velocity

At the top of the Habits page, Weekly Velocity shows the percentage of possible completions you've logged across all active habits in the last 7 days. It's a quick snapshot of your week as a whole — useful for noticing early when things are slipping before your streaks break.

Consistency Insight (AI analysis)

After you reach 100 total completions across all your habits, a Consistency Insight unlocks. A progress bar on the Habits page tracks how close you are.

Once unlocked, tap the insight bar to open a chat session pre-loaded with a prompt asking for:

  • Your completion rates broken down per habit
  • Streak patterns and which habits are strongest
  • Areas where consistency is inconsistent
  • Observations on your overall rhythm

The analysis pulls your live habit stats, so the output reflects your actual data at the time you run it.

Note: 100 completions across all habits, not 100 for a single one. If you have 5 active habits, you'll hit the threshold faster.

Common questions

My streak broke but I definitely did the habit. What happened? Check that your frequency setting matches how often you're actually logging. If your habit is set to Daily but you logged it every other day, each gap breaks the streak. You can update the frequency in the detail panel.

The heatmap shows gaps I don't remember. Can I fill them in? Yes — open the detail panel for the habit and log completions for specific past dates. Past completions don't affect your current streak calculation, but they make your history more accurate and your charts more meaningful.

Does archiving a habit reset my stats? No. All completion history, streaks, and stats are preserved when you archive. If you reactivate an archived habit, the history picks up from where it left off.

I have 5 habits. Should I be concerned that my weekly velocity is only 60%? Context matters. A 60% velocity across 5 daily habits means you're completing roughly 3 out of 5 every day. Whether that's fine depends on which habits you're hitting and which you're not. Use the individual habit charts to see which ones are dragging the number down.
