Shared History
Each person's profile in Terra can accumulate a history of the experiences you've shared — events you attended together, vacations, parks you visited, and media you watched or read. This builds a picture of your relationship beyond contact details.
How shared history works
You don't add shared history from the People section directly. Instead, when you create or edit entries in other sections of Terra, you can tag people on them:
- Events — tag who was there
- Vacations — tag who you traveled with
- Parks — tag who you visited with
- Media — tag who you watched, read, or listened to it with
Once tagged, those entries automatically appear in that person's profile under Shared History.
Viewing shared history
Open any person's profile and scroll to the Shared History section. It shows:
- Events — how many events you've tagged this person on, out of your total events logged
- Vacations — shared trips
- Parks — places you've been together
- Media — things you've experienced together
Each category shows a count and links through to the relevant entries. This gives you a quick read on who you share experiences with most.
Why this is useful
Over time, the shared history section becomes an honest record of who you actually spend time with — not who you intend to spend time with. Noticing that a close friend appears in very few entries, despite years of contact, can be a useful prompt.
It also makes individual profiles much richer. A person's profile isn't just their birthday and phone number — it's a timeline of the experiences that make up your relationship with them.
Common questions
Can I add shared history retroactively? Yes. Go back and edit any past event, vacation, park, or media entry and add the person tag. It will appear in their profile immediately.
Does removing a tag from an entry remove it from the person's profile? Yes — tags are the connection. Remove a person tag from an entry and it drops from their shared history.
Does deleting a person remove the tags on those entries? Deleting a person removes their profile but does not modify or remove the tags on events, vacations, or other entries. Those entries stay intact.
